This is truly one of the more unique red wines I've tasted - but that doesn't mean I enjoyed it. This is a winemaker's blend of zinfandel, syrah, and merlot. The result is a wine that is very sweet on the palate initially then quickly disappears into a very alcohol laden finish. I'm not sure if it was the combination of grapes selected or a substandard base to begin with but the combination of very sweet for a red followed by an overpowering finish left me displeased with the mix overall.
